I had no idea Mrs. Pepperpot had an anime! I’ve read the stories when I was younger

Back in the 70s and 80s, there were quite a few anime adaptation of European authors/stories/history and they don't even have to be from World Masterpiece Theatre.

This was on Dutch television titled as 'Vrouwtje Theelepel'. Many people here in their 30's-50's here are familiar with the anime (aside from the fact that it's an anime lol).
I have seen it at times, but I was too young to remember anything other than the characters' appreances.

I will be getting this asap! I swear more than 3 quarters of my wishlist on Rightstuf are Discotek releases.

Hmm, if they can license Mrs. Pepperpot, I wonder if Discotek could get the anime Adventures in Moominvalley.

Personally, I'm wondering if they can get Heidi, Girl of the Alps*, not to mention the original Sei Juushi Bismarck (which got "macekred" into "Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs"^). Also, fun fact about Mrs. Pepperpot: the ending theme (sung by Mari Iijima of Macross fame) was used as the background music of the first stage in the classic arcade game Bomb Jack (because of this, the Arcade Archives version uses a version of the main theme from the NES game Mighty Bomb Jack). In any case, I'll see about getting, or at least watching this show.

*The Latin American Spanish version was available on Studio 100's "Junior Club" YouTube channel, but as of this writing only 3 episodes, a compilation of episodes 7-9, and a series of "beautiful moments" are available. It seems like all the other episodes are either private or blocked. Keep in mind that "Junior Club" is an official YouTube channel. In any case, the closest America ever got to an English version was a compilation movie made sometime after the show ended in Japan (the movie has a copyright date of 1975).

UPDATE: Apparently that’s just the playlist I found. There are other Latin American Spanish episodes, but you may need to search for them.

^Among other things "Saber Rider" isn't the actual leader, it's the character they renamed "Fireball". There's also the original episodes they made that aren't part of the Japanese series...

Me too! This is quite a nice surprise. I wonder how many other books have animes I never knew about.

I already own the first two seasons of Konosuba on blu ray. When are they going to release the movie?

If they’re licensing 50-ep stuff like this, I’d love to finally get Heidi and Anne.

Anne is licensed by Madman in Australia/NZ. Didn’t realise it wasn’t elsewhere.
