slightly ironic that the yandare is the first to bring all the crazies out over a relationship.

For those not in the know, the "slander and defamation" they're referring to is the people saying Rushia and Mafumafu are dating. They really wanted to sweep this incident under the rug and hope it would blow over, but ironically, all the people voicing support for Rushia's dating life and amplifying the situation on social media and YouTube and news sites are making the situation worse for her since now they have to work even harder to dispel the "misinformation" that Rushia is dating someone, less she loses her gachikoi audience. Really awful timing with this happening right before Valentines day and with the girlfriend merch.

Selling engagement rings and bride merch is pretty creepy.

Japan's disturbing idol culture is self destructive at best and extremely harmful at worst. The idea that these aren't people has given Otaku with nothing in their lives reason to attack someone is idiotic. I admit that the US's worship of celebrities who have done bad things is also problematic, but I get disgusted by feeding people this lie that a vtuber is just an object. Really gross.

All this over a friendship, so now being friends with a guy as an idol is a crime to loony fans? Cover really needs to distance themselves from the idol industry before it's too late, it will be fine as an entertainment company, because most fans are watching for entertainment and not for the illusion of a partner.

Not so much creepy, it's been done before, but it sure isn't wise since Vtubers are only part fictional. That type of merch should be for fully fictional characters only.

Nah, this isn't over a friendship. This is over long-time rumors (from before "Rushia" the character was even around) of the two living together. That Mafumafu's discord message to Rushia used the Japanese verb that is 90% of the time used to say "coming home" stoked the flames. It also should be noted that Mafumafu's fanbase, thus far, seems to be far more agitated than Rushia's.

Also the hashtag "#るしあ大好きだよ" being talked about in the worldwide trends being translated to English as "WeLoveRussia" made for some hilarious memes.

I saw the video of interviewing Mafumafu. It was pretty hilarious to see people's reactions and memes. However; it did make me sad to see how she got hate from her fans and Mafu's. Female celebs, online or Hollywood industry, always get the short end of the stick.
