Yeah!

While unofficially there will be those "suggestions" to create a more enjoyable program.

Well - this is what they say happens.
What actually happens is probably along these lines:

Disney+: "Hey. We're Disney." *opens arms*
Anime companies: YES, THANK YOU

I see Disney only producing or streaming the most generic, milquetoast, bland, Steven Universe-looking anime to appeal to a wider audience, especially that part that doesn't like anime. Star Wars Visions proved there's an audience, but I just chalk that up to the IP being Star Wars.

On the one hand, it's good to see some more competition to the Sony Anime empire. On the other hand, it's coming from the company that is swallowing the whole entertainment industry whole. So there is reason to be both optimistic and pessimistic.

The four titles they’ve picked so far don’t look much like that, especially not a sequel to The Tatami Galaxy.

Give it some time in seeing what content they bring before prematurely judging it, mind you.

I'd like to see a Mickey Mouse anime at some point in time, I see something in the vein of Onegai My Melody if one were made.

"We deeply respect the works of Japanese creators, and we will transmit them overseas just the way they are,"

So that means that they would air it uncensored and/or without changes, huh?

Are people still unaware Disney+ is now streaming mature content in the US?

Nah, I still stand by what I said, based on what I've seen about Disney's practices, and no matter how much you don't like it when other people have opinions other than yours.

TBH, the real reasons I am not such a Disney person is because companies like them helped screw our current American copyright systems with their lobbying and the fact that Disney bought out 20CF. Now, some people will give CR flack for airing censored versions of shows and rightfully so. However, in CR's defense, they sometimes eventually have the uncensored version of said shows. I don't see Disney doing that.

This seems to be supporting Disney winding down its TV animation (canceling shows like Amphibia and Owl House) and going all in on premium products for their streaming services.

As for any edits, they’re showing The Punisher on Disney Plus without a problem. Things should be OK.

I would understand if their was some type of previous censorship problem, but Disney has rarely touched anime before. I would compare their anime output with past shows, the same way the Netflix marvel shows were assumed to be "censored", when in reality they are completely uncut on their platform. Again, I am not a huge fan of disney these days(obsession with gimmicky marketing tactics and price gouging), but I think their may be a chance. At least we know anime on Disney+ will be weekly.
