And I thought their Play Arts stuff was over-priced.

For that kind of money I'd spring for a custom actually-working magitek model replica.

For that price it better be made out of precious gem stones.

Knowing Final Fantasy fans, that entire run of 600 pieces will sell out.

Also, note the 1/6 scale. Accounting for her pose, Terra by herself will likely be somewhere between 6 to 10 inches tall. This is a very big statue.

thats insane....most I've ever spent on a figure was 470 and that was pushing it with my budget.

even if i had the money for this id rather save it for if they ever released a version featuring rinoa instead!

SE said "Let's see if you guys really like Tina. How far are you willing to go?"

The fact that The Guch is saying something says a lot.

For comparison's sake, most huge polystone statues like this run from the high hundreds to the low thousands. For $12K I think you're getting into the range of commissioning a studio for something custom made.

Prime 1 Studio are the people who make these masterline figures for Square. Here are some examples of similarly sized figures from them (and one of them has built in lights for special effects):
$1,400

$5,700

EDIT:
Hell, Square's Nier Automata diorama from the same range was only $2,800

If they sell out, it'll be over $6.9 million, which is plausible.

I don't think they'll be available for very long, as things with limited stock (600 in this case), tend to sell fast. SE is banking on limited edition stuff...reminds me of XIII-2 all over again. SE gave the excuse that XIII didn't sell well because it didn't have a limited edition or collector's edition. XIII-2 got a collector's edition and sold less. XIII-3 (Lightning Returns) didn't have a limited edition or collector's edition and did even worse. I don't think SE understood why the expected sales were so low.

Someone will try to buy these figures up and try to resell them for profit. I think the major issue is that the entry level and markup prices are just beyond what an everyday person can afford.

Love the detail and everything, but that price! At the very least I would hope it can withstand alot of stuff.
