Was not expecting the murder that lead to her getting Isekai'ed.
What are the chances that Umehara would end up the male lead in another one of these? On-top of Romance Killer. Although it seems like this character is very different. |

Korean webtoons tend to be heavily localised for domestic Japanese releases. Korean names and references to Korea are totally replaced with Japanese names and locations instead. Supposedly earlier releases in Japan did use the original Korean names but there was disapproval from their domestic readers. Claims were that because Japan takes great pride in their domestic manga output, foreign webtoons need to be made Japanese for locals to accept it. (Personally I suspect this is more a case of appeasing loudmouth internet nationalists who discriminate against Koreans and any output from Korea.) |

I was already interested, but with Ume-chan as the Duke that seals the deal for me. Plus Toki, Ishida, Sugita and Suwabe? What a great cast.
With regards to changing everything to Japanese, I’m not sure how common it is, but wanted to mention that there is a Chinese manhua I was reading on Wecomics where names/places were Chinese. After wandering away from it for a while, I picked it up again on Pocket Comics, but they’re using the Korean version so everything now has a Korean equivalent and the characters have Korean names, etc. So I was thinking the change to Japanese from Korean for Raeliana was a normal thing depending on the license? No actual idea, though, just guessing. |

There is that Korean mangaka (though, he normlly only writes stories and hire other people to draw) Dal Young Im who was pretty popular in Japan. If I remember right, some of his mangas were left with Korean names when licenced but when one of them had an anime planned (it was later cancelled because the manga went on a 2-year hiatus due to some issues with the artist) they also changed all names to Japanese ones. This was odder.

Yeah, I figured it was because of racism. I think they should not do it. I'm still excited for the anime, though. Really good characters and romance. |

It definitely looks interesting. I'll give it a shot when it comes out. The cast is looking pretty stacked too. The veterans we have here are nice to see ofc, but I'm especially interested to see what rising stars like Yume and Shuichiro have to offer since I enjoyed their previous works.

I think the name changing could due to the committee want easier names for audience to pronounce. There are languages that are harder to pronounce for by other languages' native speakers. Like it is easier for people in my country to pronounce Japanese names but a lot can't pronounce English names and our names are very hard for foreigners in my country, too.
