Clannad After Story, Elfen Lied, Highschool of the Dead, and the Patlabor movies have been missing for months. I won't hold my breath that these come back anytime soon.

I hope they use this opportunity to make quite a few titles available in territories they have licensed them in but for some reason haven't made available on Hidive. Their pre-Tsurune KyoAni licenses, for example - they were on Crunchyroll here before the removal but are still geolocked on Hidive. (And Tsurune seems to have disappeared recently.)

Here's hoping the old Legend of Galactic Heroes OVAs are among those titles.

So 5 months ago it was a technical issue with an upgrade https://twitter.com/HIDIVEofficial/status/1547710057436962816

Now its "a regular and ongoing curation" of its library utter bullshit just trying to save face with a PR statement.

Like ffs for anyone wondering there missing over 100+ titles, user made list - https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1cs-3KIZT3ijbf5cH6pF7BJlRqbm8JVCWHDUgKwtCY_Q/edit#gid=0

With Recent Additions Being The Like's Of "The Demon Girl Next Door Season 1" happening in the last 2 weeks. Funny how none of this is the ANN article.

Based on all the evidence users have gathered (As seen above), the reasoning they give is BS and the timing they give should not be trusted. I don't expect they'll last another 2 years at the rate things are going. Sony/CR's monopolization will be complete soon. Disney could really do a number on it tho...

Clannad (including After Story) is literally getting re-released physically in a couple of months, so I imagine AS will be returning to Hidive.

All of LOGH came back almost instantly after it was first taken down, so that's not a worry.

I am guessing that the missing series are in the process of being renewed. I assume that whatever does not return means that Sentai lost the license to it.

You are speaking as if Sentai/HIDIVE was still an independent company struggling to get by. Before AMC bought them I also believed that it was only a matter of time for Sentai to close shop or be bought by Crunchyroll.

Well, AMC Networks is indeed struggling to get more money and reduce/cut spends to pay off their +2b USDLLS debt.

It's not like AMC isn't feeling the pinch itself lately.

There's no reason it can't be both, perhaps even intertwined.

For example, it's possible the content publishing system flagged a bunch of shows for expired contracts erroneously and that's why they were pulled. In the process of trying to fix the issue, the contracts of the shows had/were set to expire for realsies and that creates further delays while the shows are reviewed and/or renewed.

Glad that Sentai themselves provided a list of shows that got removed and an ETA for when they'll return /s.

Hidive's service honestly feels like it's just been getting worse and worse and I hope they get their stuff together before AMC decides to cut them

I am aware that AMC is going through turmoil, but under them Sentai/HIDIVE went from licensing 2 shows per season to now 12. I could see AMC cutting Sentai/HIDIVE funding, but I doubt they are going back to the struggles before the buyout.
