I read all 7 novels and honestly is surprisingly good and sweet romance series with clear progression.

I enjoy age-gap romances and I really liked this except that bath scene. I will probably get the second volume but that bath scene raised enough fear that I was iffy on continuing if that’s what I can expect from the series.

So the light novel was not licensed. Pity.

I think this is a cute series and have enjoyed the first two volumes quite a bit. I wasn't bothered by the bath scene at all and I think it needs to be looked at a little more in the cultural context. It's my understanding that kids as old as 9-10 still sometimes are allowed in for mixed bathing in Japan. In the manga's scene, I took from it that we're supposed to see how much Ayako sees Takumi as a little boy or even surrogate son, and to reinforce how much of a hurdle he has to overcome to win her affection. His discomfort is from having a bit of a romantic and sexual awakening from the experience, which of course was totally unintended by Ayako, and helps to build up the case for why he had such strong feelings for Ayako from such a young age.

I also like how the series doesn't beat around the bush too much with the concept, and goes right in to the set-up, confession, and the resulting fallout. I appreciated the steady story progress.

This sounds funny so I'll check it out. First I got into anime in 2018, then into visual novels and eroge in 2021 and now I'm looking to get into manga. Already got the first 3 volumes of Eromanga Sensei since Dark Horse has no interest in releasing the rest, lol.

thisz the bath scene highlights how much she sees takumi as a kid, even her kid but yeah from his pov it has his sexual awakening and it is obviously intended to titilate the reader..

Look, even the Disney Channel had a longest-running TV series where a 16-year-old high school girl has known an elementary school boy since he was 9 years old - and 10 years later, when he's about to go to college, they're a couple (she's 26 years old, he's 19 years old - but who knows when they first started dating)

So if even Disney, of all things, could do it...................... Laughing

(For those who don't know, it's Phineas and Ferb - Ferb and Vanessa)

See, the funny thing is, if you were just to come up to me and say that there's a children's TV show that has a creepy tendency to sexualize children, I'd just assume it was a Disney Channel thing. Not just for my first guess, but for #2, 3, 4, and 5 as well. The Disney Channel kinda has a (deserved) rep for that kinda thing.

What is surprising here is just that it's one of their cartoons, and not one of the live action shows.

not that i'm at all defending the disney channel or the corpo in general but are you confusing it with nickelodeon? i've never heard of anyone talking about the disney channel sexualizing its child stars (if anything i've heard the opposite – that the channel is too obsessed with them keeping a pure and squeaky clean image even as they become adults) but the nickelodeon live action shows are the ones that (rightfully) have said reputation for sexualizing its child actors.
