This must be graded on a massive curve because the Filipino film industry simply does not do this sort of effects-heavy show. They don't have the traditions of sci-fi television and tokusatsu, not to mention the budget of this is going to be a fraction of what Amazon is probably doing for Voltron, which in all likelihood, will be a budget in the nine-figure range.
With all those numerous qualifiers out of the way, this doesn't look terrible. I'd argue there's some clear passion here that a lot of lesser adaptations don't have, but whether or not that makes up for its clear budgetary issues (like how everything has that clear plastic sheen on the CG) and the general unproven nature of the actors on a scale this big remains to be seen. |
