Let me guess, everyone will announce games, but Square Enix will also announce NFTs and metaverse projects too.

I would really love for Metal Gear Solid, and Final Fantasy IX remakes for modern hardware to end up being true.

Franchise, franchise, franchise. No new ideas. Seems that is what gaming has become.

The thing about new ideas is that most of them are failed experiments that suck.

Reality is that most people just want something familiar with more, or less modern treatment.

Triple A gaming is extremely expensive. Experimental ideas are not profitable to shareholders, when you can just repeat something else. If you want unique titles, please support indie games and publishers like devolver digital.

Almost none of the new ideas gets greenlit because AAA publishers don't trust anything that doesn't have something like a franchise power behind it.

Thankfully for me there are indie games. I much rather spend my time exploring new ideas, (some of which fail, some that don't and some that will stay with me forever) than experience minor improvements over a game I've basically already played countless times.

Indies...

You mean countless Metroidvania copycats, Chrono Trigger wannabes, and misery simulators?

I hear nowadays PS1 demakes are becoming a thing too.

Don't forget the remakes. Especially the remakes of the biggest and and most iconic games of all times that have zero chance of living up to the hype or legacy that the original games set. FF7 Remake already failed to sell anywhere near as well as the original financially, let alone it's mixed reception story wise. Resident Evil 4 and Silent Hill 2 are most assuredly going to be painful and ruin the original games as well. And then you got those remakes of games not even 10 years old shows how creatively bankrupt gaming is these days like the Last of Uses and Call of Duties. Maybe a new Silent Hill by Ryukishi07 could be interesting. Final Fantasy XVI by YoshiP has promise. But at this point you need a notable creative attached to something to get my attention. Someone I can actually trust and know what their style is like. And indie devs are not much better. The amount of retro 8-bit platformers, Metroidvanias, and quirky Earthbound RPGs is in a similar glut and overdone to the point of annoyance.

Shout out to ports of older games that enhance on the original like Tactics Ogre and Romancing SaGa / SaGa Frontier / Minstrel Song. Keeping the great classics alive for a modern generation and not ruining them like actual remakes do.

Accoring to some rumors, Atlus may be developing a Persona 3 remake. That's something I really want since they would add all of the content from FES and Portable into one console game, and I suppose stuff from P4 and P5. However, considering they're releasing P3 Portable to consoles this year, it sounds kind of weird

supposedly,Persona 3 FES' source code is a mess and a nightmare to make a port or remaster(kinda like why Red Dead Redemption 1 never got any re-releases despite the demand for it.),which would explain why they went for the Portable version for a remaster

Companies are no stranger to making you double dip or do that kind of thing though
