At that much money they raised at least to produce 4 standard episodes.

The campaign ended on Friday, raising a total of 115,964,266 yen (about US$907,000). The account had previously revealed that if the campaign were to raise over 96,560,858 yen (about US$756,000), then the staff would apply for the Guinness World Record for most money raised by an anime production project.

Nekopara OVA kickstarter has it beat; Razz ($963,376)

That's probably just an exchange rate issue. Or inflation.

What exactly is this, I keep seeing news for it about crowdfunding, as well as well recalling seeing it on Prime Video, but when I look it up on YouTube it just has a bunch of random clips of scenes that don't seem to be connected in anyway.

According to this site a $100 in 2015 is $126.54 now in 2023. So $963,376(Nekopara) x 1.2654 would be... ~$1,219,056 today.

The staff explained that to make a one-cours (quarter of a year) anime, the production cost is about 300 million yen (about US$2.153 million).

Good to know production costs from other sources are corroborating this figure.
