My favorite Souls like ever. I literally bought a Steam Deck last year to play Nobeta and I wasn't disappointed at all. Really appreciate the fact the developers are cultured and love the loli fanservice just as much as the fanbase does.

Yeah, I played this back when it was in early access on PC on a whim, and it's a fairly fun game, although I think calling it a "Soulslike" is stretching that term quite a bit... but I know there's a lot of people who consider any game with a dodge roll and a stamina meter to be a Soulslike, and so if that's the case, I guess it fits. But...
Yeah, I made the mistake of looking up the dev account, and there's a lot of creepy AF stuff there. The fanbase has practically turned "funny and cute" into a dogwhistle for "loli porn," so y'know, I'd recommend staying away if that's not your kind of thing. |

"Cute and funny" has been a big meme in the anime community for years. Nobeta's developers and fanbase didn't create it. Gawr Gura's been making jokes about it since her debut in 2020. Although it is probably a bit rare to see the English corporate accounts promoting this kind of stuff compared to JP corporate accounts. But people loved that one Tweet of Yoko Taro asking people to send him a zip file of 2B porn so I think most people are mostly fine with creators acknowledging that they can be as degenerate as their fans. |

You saw people were creeped out by the developers promoting the game with sexy pictures of their eight year old protagonist, and you thought "they must be creeped out because they don't like sexy pictures."
I'm not phrasing that as a question. I'm just describing what you did. |

All 6 of your posts on this forum have to do with complaining about sex or fanservice in anime. Maybe that statement isn't too far off the mark. Anyway, Nobeta was been fun. I was also a fan of Code Vein and would like to see more anime-aesthetic Souls games. From Software makes good games, but I do get a bit tired of the realistic aesthetic in modern games. I do hope we see more games in that style. |

man, i was on board but the combo of "voiced by popular vtubers" and the loli porn turned me off faster than you could blink. i really miss when i could see a cutely designed young female character in a game and not immediately have to wonder if the devs were normal about her.
this might be hard to wrap your brain around, but there is a difference between a grown adult woman and an eight year old child. this may, in turn affect how people respond and react to the official platforms of the game using sexually suggestive and/or borderline pornographic art of said characters to promote the game. hope this helps! |

Recently platinumed Bloodborne (my very first 100% Game Trophy!) and then gone back with the speed and confindence to Platinum Dark Souls 1 over the course of 3 months, I'm a little exhasuted with Games in general, but am nontheless fascinated with Little Witch Nobeta for when I'm less exhausted/depressed. Probably will try this before I try Dark Souls 3
Anyways, it has been said that the length of Nobeta is "short and sweet", but how much of a "stress inducing controller smasher" is it compared to Director Miyazaki's Fromsoft Soulslike Games? Hopefully there's nothing as mean-spiritedly difficult as the Double-Archer-Sniper-Combo watching over the slope-of-doom in Arno Londo (Dark Souls 1) or as depression-worseningly-difficult bosses as The Orphan of Kos (Bloodborne), are there? And if its only 10 hours, it wouldn't take days of a life away. And hopefully, Gothic Aesthetic notwithstanding, it dosen't get too bleak and depressing like a typical "Soulslike" Game, does it? Thank You.
