Truly the most successful adaptation of a Japanese IP, some people would metion Transformers but despite being based on a Japanese toyline all of the mythology and future designs were primarily made in America, maybe you could argue Power Rangers is a successful adaptation of Super Sentai but I don't know. I can't believe a few months ago some people said Mario wouldn't make a lot of money in Japan, due to other American adaptations of Japanese video games like Sonic bombing there. The financial success of this movie has been incredible, it might become the highest grossing movie of the year |
