If the manga is not that long I can see the whole thing being adapted into 39-50 anime episodes.

It is hard to say for now. The author hints that the current arc may be the last one, but it has a bunch of chapters already and has not even reached the middle. And there are no announcements that manga may be ending anytime soon.

Chapter 121 just came out the same day as the most recent anime episode. While this may be the last arc of the manga, it doesn’t look like Akasaka-sensei is gonna wrap up everything relatively soon, as there are many plot points to resolve.

Sure, this season will adapt 40 chapters of manga, and that pace means maybe 4 seasons at most if the manga is done by chapter 160 or so, but that was due to the 10 chapter movie length first episode, which they aren’t guaranteed to get for subsequent seasons.

Nice! I'll be sticking with the anime and prefer to own that.

Either way, I get the impression that this won't be a long series. The story beats are nice and tight, so the author has a good roadmap and is sticking to it. So I have faith that it'll end as intended.
