Holy crap, it lives. I can't believe this is actually coming out.

Guess it's time to start badgering Sunrise to bring back the original dub cast for this. They'll always be the definitive voices for the characters, and I have zero interest in the redub.

Have they ever revived a Gundam timeline after this long? Aside from the perennial Universal Century and the Build timeline, I think they generally just finish with one and start another. The Cosmic Era's been dormant since 2006; we've seen 00, AGE, G-Reco, IBO, and now G-Witch since then.

Never in animated format. Other titles sometimes get new stuff like manga and novels. For example: Frozen Teardrop, a serial novel that is a sequel to Wing and was released in 2010.

Having said that, it should be noted this movie was supposed to come out not long after Seed Destiny, but health issues of the head writer killed those plans.

They haven't even released the SEED Destiny redub!

That's one way to celebrate your 20th anniversary I suppose. Good on them. Definitely looking forward to seeing this. Ight Might even go ahead and pick up that Lacus 20th anniversary figure that went on pre-order a few days ago. When they dropped her bunny figure a year or so ago, I figured something had to be brewing then, but this announcement took longer than I expected.

Same here, I have no interest in the redub. Nothing against any of the VA's, but I simply want the old cast back. I'm not an expert on behind the scenes shenanigans, but I'm sure the Ocean cast would've loved to reprise those roles.
To this day I think it's pretty unnecessary to redub the entire two series as well. I would've liked for them to do ZZ, Turn A, Victory or any others which remain Japanese only instead.

Anyway, on-topic: It's cool this movie is actually being made after being such a myth a decade+. I got into Gundam in 2011 and already heard about it back then.

Need a concrete date. Not a fiscal period.

Why wouldn't it live? It was announced to be in production in 2021.

The article already noted that so... who didn't read the article in full?

I've some doubts about this project, I actually enjoyed SEED a lot when I saw more than ten years ago, but I hated Destiny. Just hope that with all the time they had to write a sequel it can actually be better than Destiny
