As a light novel reader this season was a complete joke. They really skipped all the good stuff. For what the side stories and the harem.

The skip all the fun stuff.

I am glad you rated it so low.

Well, I thought this show was completely forgotten by the ANN staff after not being reviewed weekly. As a fan of S1 with many comments on S2 in the forum, I believe this attention was sadly more than the show deserved and I feel I should apologize that Mr. Ferris was caused to do this for whatever reason. If you haven't seen S2, don't bother, read the manga, pretend you don't know of the existence of an S2 and go about your life watching anime. Almost any you would see are likely to be better and more entertaining than this waste.

I'm in the camp that found S1 to be the absolute bottom of the anime (potentially animation as a whole) barrel, so I only watched S2 to find out if they could get any worse. (Yes I have a lot of free time...)

I have to say that one thing that improved this season is faces, in S1 the main guy has one expression no matter what is happening, to the degree that I almost thought it was supposed to be a joke. The people behind S2 seem to have at least remembered the concept of emotion.

But other than that both seasons, as alluded to in the review, epitomize a criticism i have of more and more anime recently which is, "If the show doesn't care about the story, why should I?" Things just happen, without fanfare or setup or concern. It's like they had a bullet point list and just went down it assuming that as long as it happened that was sufficient.

Despite dropping this series ages ago (and not even knowing that an S2 had come out), I clicked on this review in a fit of boredom and happenstance, and I gotta say -- this was a really well-written review! Entertainingly written while also being specifically incisive over its failures. So kudos! I certainly had more fun reading this than I ever did experiencing this snoozefest of a series.

Good advice, the second season does nothing that adds to the source material (be it manga or anime). It is actually impressive how much of the good content they have cut out.

I enjoy the Harem stuff, but it's a shame they skipped over so much.
