It’s frustrating that Netflix didn’t also upload the actual final season. They’re falling so far behind the Japanese broadcast.

The majority of the music got replaced even though TPCI OWNS THE RIGHTS TO THE ORIGINAL BGM.

I get people want the Japanese music but why are y'all still shocked at this point?

Because it's 2023, any reason to replace the music went out the window about 20 years ago.

Changing the BGM and re-naming the characters are basically done out of historical inertia at this point.

The worst series by far, especially the final tournament where nothing made sense.

And I thought Sun & Moon was bad.

That's nothing you should ever brag about though.

Easily the best animated and directed series, so much expressiveness and creativity. The staff had so much fun with it and it showed. It's a shame Pokemon will never get this kind of treatment again, especially not under current OLM.

If that dub is a B+ I'd like to see a C or lower.

Of course it's a dated relic but if you're still watching the dub you should know by now what to expect and they're not going to suddenly change at the last season with Ash in it.

After more than 10 years of every protagonist essentially being an unaging zombie, and time not passing? No, this is too late. Way too late.

Speaking for myself only, that's why I don't watch the dub. I mean in general I prefer the Japanese version but I would at least watch the dub for nostalgia sake back when they kept at least most of the music. But that was a long time ago. Sooner or later whoever's gatekeeping this show from being simulcast is going to realize just how much money they're losing.

I wonder what would happen if people who complain about this ever watched Shin-chan or Doraemon or really just about any other Japanese children's programming. Would their brains explode immediately, unable to comprehend the concept of characters existing in perpetuity as much as a 5 year old is able to?

I swear people have never heard of a looping timeline before, jeez.

It is a pity production had as many issues as it did, that being said it did more or less force me to temper my expectations alot with certain things and I do agree that all things considered it is impressive what the show was able to achieve despite it all. Even in the writing while Goh's last mission wasn't a visual spectacle by any means I did overall like hiw things wrapped with him.

Now that Ash's Era is coming to a close I do hope, at the very least of we aren't getting the Japanese OST, that the dub for Horizons will at least have se better music direction, which has always been why I tend to steer away from the dub despite the voice actors doing pretty good jobs. I tend to sample the episodes every now and then and depending on the music it really scales back and forth between "passable considering this is a kids show." to "completely tonally deaf." My expectations for the future are pretty low, but we'll see.
