That's got to be such a cool experience - so happy for him! He seems like such a good dude making the most out this crazy ride.
Side note, man Netflix (and/or other parent companies related to OP) must have a lot of press footage banked that was filmed pre-strike because I'm seeing so many videos, interviews, etc... pop up on my feed. Which is such a contrast compared to the real-time quiet from anyone involved. Like even outside of the live-action show itself, I was reading a TV Insider article earlier today with the dub cast for Ep 1000 & Gear 5 and when asked about the Netflix show, Colleen Clinkenbeard said she unfortunately couldn't really discuss it due to it being a struck production. |

I’m keeping my expectations tempered and realistic. With that said, I do love seeing that there’s some heart in this live action production. This dude seems to be having so much fun.

Really like how passionate and respectful Iñaki Godoy is, and how he's trying to learn and communicate in Japanese.
Looking forward to the show. Hoping it turns into a fun multi-season run, and not just a one-season forgotten one-off. I've read and own some of the three-in-one manga volumes, though I'm hoping the show has a little of the Pirates of the Caribbean in terms of visuals and music. Probably not what fans of the manga want for the show though, maybe. |

Ok, real talk here: I don't like One Piece, but everything I've seen of the live action makes me kind of excited for it. LIke, I actually want to watch it, which really goes against my principles.
Also, Iñaki Godoy's little accent is adorable, and his "One Piece おいしい!" made me LOL. |

Same. I'm not a One Piece fan but seeing how excited and passionate the cast are is just so lovely and makes me really hope the series is well received. I don't have Netflix but I'm still excited to see stuff from it because what I've seen so far seems really cool. I can't help but watch this video with a big smile on my face because he looks so! stoked! You can tell this is a dream come true for him and I think that's awesome. When they said "You are the real Luffy" it looked like he was gonna cry. One Piece Oishii :') Bless you Iñaki, you're trying your best. |

I don't know knowing netflix track record of bad live action animes like death note and cowboy bebop don't get your hopes up for this to be good and I get the feeling it only get one season before it gets canceled because there's no way they are going to make this as long as the anime. |

The only difference here seems to be the ungodly amount of support Shueisha is giving this thing compared to the others where their parent companies were ignoring them or not caring.
I wonder what's going to happen if this ends up bombing just like those. |
