Is there an episode count confirmed yet ? They intend to adapt the Double Seven Arc, Steeplechase Arc, and Ancient City Insurrection Arc ( vol 12-15 ), considering previous seasons's pace it could be anything from a rushed 1 cour, 2 cours or ideally an unusual episode count .

Spring isn't necessary larger than average so far but when it comes to sequel of very popular series it's already quite load indeed.

This is good news. I too am wondering how many episodes this season will have? As Yune pointed out, it will include the Double Seven & Steeplechase arcs. That material should be enough for 24 episodes.
The Ancient City Insurrection arc covers 2 light novels or 35 chapters in the manga. That could be long enough for its own season.

that has me concerned as well.

knowing kadokawa, they will cut out a lot from those arcs in order to have it reach the 12 or 13 ep mark for they tend to do that for most if not all of their adaptations as a mean to frustrate anime only viewers to buy the light novels aka the source materials to fill in the gaps that the anime adaptation left out and this series as well as both its arc movie as well as the honor in magic high school spinoff was no exception

sometimes it works well ala season 2 of both eminence in shadow & jobless reincarnation, and at other times the practice backfires which in turn completely wrecks a series (looking at you shield hero)

Imho it didn't work so well in JR since lots of parts of its S2 felt quite rushed even for someone like me who is only watching its anime.
