Hmm, I wonder how the board game scenes would be handled…maybe via a screen projector on the wall or something.

That's my guess. With Engeki Haikyuu, while there were some actual volleyball, the ball was mostly a projection while the actors did all the motions. I'd be surprised if they didn't do it this way.

Edit: I forgot to look at the cast list. lol I'm suuuuuuuper excited! The cast so far is stacked! Koji, Yojiro, and Tomorun are excellent actors! And you can't go wrong with Wada's music. I'm really looking forward to this show!

Another 2000s anime I would like to see get a modern remake.

Judging by MyAnimeList, and Reddit activity, Hikaru no Go is pretty much forgotten.

I'm not against modern remakes of classic anime. In fact I'm very much for them.
However while I do think Hikaru no Go is a shonen classic I'm not sure I see the appeal
of a modern remake for Hikaru no Go. It just didn't seem like the kind of show that really
needed the fanciest animation to be enjoyable and I think it was pretty close to the manga.
I kinda feel like I dunno maybe a 4K upscale sorta thing would be cool for the show?

But I dunno what would you want to see from a Hikaru No Go remake?
I mean do you want to see just art and animation changes? Or story changes?
Or music changes?
