Man, you really don't give an anime time to even demonstrate the plot.

Personally I like it; it's like a Miyazaki movie turned TV series, except without all of the pretension.

So far it's alright, but I feel like it would translate better as a DS RPG, and I'm not even a gamer. As a show, it feels like it's lacking somewhere.

Agreed.

It doesn't help that the animation is the most inconsistent I've seen in recent memory. The main characters are great, but side characters look like they're straight out of the 80's.
