huh well it's look like they are finally catching up with the times at least, sadly I don't own any android device but that doesn't mean I will not be getting one any time soon. Still it's nice to see a legal alternative like this

I know a lot of people with Android devices tend to overreact to permission requirements with a lot of apps, but I just can't figure out why the required viewer app needs to be able to make phone calls.

I'm assuming the translations are the preexisting ones for some of these titles from http://www.emanga.com and NTT Solmare animenewsnetwork.com/news/2010-09-30/cobra-jesus-umezu-manga-released-in-english
Nice that there's a legit market for Android users now. Jason reviewed some of the NTTSolmare titles for the House of Manga column awhile ago.

Eh, that's why I just buy print editions- no need to worry about it breaking, or running out of batteries, or buying a 100-500 dollar device. And they only cost $9-12 each, so are fairly affordable.

There's also Libraries.

It is a nice development for people who have android phones though [which are cheaper than the Iphone, right? From what I recall that's the case]- I know some folks who'll be pleased about this, and would be good to plunk down a few bucks to add some manga to their phone. There's a nice assortment of licenses there, diverse content, most of which isn't available in print, so I imagine many manga fans'll check itout.

And I think Android allows Flash, so if you have a phone with internet service, you might want to check out http://www.shonensunday.com and http://www.sigikki.com for your manga needs. VIZ's anthology sites offer new chapters of assorted series every week, and previews of volumes that've been printed.

Another step in the right direction! Very Happy I prefer print editions myself, but more legal alternatives hopefully means less illegal pirating. It's better for the environment in some ways too, so I've heard. Guess we'll have to wait and see.
