I have this feeling that a lot of people that picked up the Oreimo set on DVD for a second chance, will be pretty angry that the blu ray release came back again^^

EDIT: My bad, for some reason I thought the first release WAS on blu, but it was just a DVD LE with a DVD SE as the second release.

Excited for both but these hefty priced sets all within a few months isn't customer friendly when they are advertised as limited.

I very very much want the Oreimo Set but when listed as an import i;m worried just how much they are going to charge. And again if its alot they have given people a month to get the money together.

Love what they are doing in terms of licensing but they need to spread it out alittle at these prices imo

Probably not when they see the price...

Yeah, I just got Bakemonogatari and I'm planning on getting the Garden of Sinners DVD set. Then these two are coming out in a little over five weeks. I don't know how Japanese otaku deal with these prices, but kudos to them.

I actually picked up the first Oreimo release for 60 dollars and was very happy with it. But given how popular it was, I was kinda hoping they would release it on BD as well. Since I was also short on cash at the time and could watch it legally on Crunchyroll, I sold it for 100 bucks. This is pretty neat. Now I can just pick the BD release, which will probably cost somewhere between 80 to 150, I'm guessing. Better reserve a copy fast, since the first one sold out in 3 months or so.

Edit: And this just in, the Oreimo BD will retail for 329.98. And cost 278.98 at RightStuf. Boy, do I have egg on my face.

Aniplex USA to Release Nisemonogatari

Looks like my chances of getting the second "Fate/Zero" box just got much, much lower.

The Aniplex USA site lists it at $278.98.

What the ANN article doesn't mention (but links to) is that Nisemonogatari retails at $149.98 and Oreimo retails at a lovely $329.98...

And just below those prices, you can see what they'll actually sell for.

How can they justify that price in the US market? Its not even a 2 cour show.

Just slap "Import" on anything and Aniplex USA can price it any way they like...

Because anime fans are nerds. Nerds get constantly squeezed endlessly for endless amounts of money in all fandoms. Shit, a W40K army costs like 1000 bucks for an average one. Same with this--there's a dedicated fanbase who WILL fork out absurd amounts of money for what they want.
