I don't think I'll be buying this since the Bandai Visual release is good enough for me too, but it's nice to see the movie back in print. Excellent film, overall, even with a certain infamous misstep that people still bring up from time to time (myself included, of course).

Neato! I mean, there's no way they can top the gorgeous release that Bandai Visual did, but having it back in print and at a nice affordable price is excellent! This is such a haunting and interesting movie; I hope it has a good third life. (Fourth life? How many times has this thing been released here?)

I have the Bandai Visual release, which is great. But I've always been annoyed because its DVD sized case.

So being able to replace it will be a great relief.

We assume the English audio is the old Manga dub, right?

Good movie. I am not a big fan of it, but the animation is excellent. I do not think I will buy it, but I would definitely buy Gunbuster on BD. I hope Gunbuster is soon released by Maiden Japan or any other R1 distributor.

Good to see it back in circulation with a decent price. I hope it's full of nice extras.

Dear god, this thing is a classic.

I unapologetically say that I wept during the final scene when I first saw this movie.

spoiler[(they're this alternate society that never had manned spaceflight before, and the two rival countries break out into war and are fighting right near the launch pad but his rocket manages to go up...and everyone from both sides just gapes up in awe)]

Same here. Also glad that The Wings of Honneamise will be available again in North America, and this time not at an asinine price.

Gainax never made anything like this again, so it's great to see it staying around.

Dismissing it as a misstep seems similar to what Tarantino did by calling John Ford a racist without actually looking at his films where depictions of racism may sometimes be problematic, but they are complex and not easily dismissed by some hackneyed, black and white analysis... especially by a man who does this kind of nonsense.

If might buy this if the quality of the release is the same as the Bandai Visual Blu-ray. I would assume the Sentai release will be a bit cheaper and because of that I would get that version but if it turns out the Sentai release is crap I will save a bit and grab the other version(Something I had planned for awhile but other things keep coming up in regards to money)

By far my favorite animated movie. A masterpiece.

But I already have the extremely expensive DVD/Blu-Ray set from years ago.
