One of the titles responsible for acting as an influence, perhaps subtle, for Gunbuster, which right now is the only reason I see to track it down and give it a look. I don't believe it's see any fansubs, at least any ones that are truly in English, so a digest version via the films is probably the best we'll do for a while.

That would be interesting to see. After this and Shout Factory releasing the JPN Transformers series and picking up Starzinger/Spaceketeers, maybe Shout! Factory could end up doing more anime license. But don't expect it to be dub (unless it's a old anime that was already dubbed).

They have released a lot of vintage shows and movies, I recall becoming a fan of the company when they released all three Mario Bros. cartoon series on DVD. I like how they are licensing some anime titles that aren't that common to see on R1 DVD like the Japanese Transformer shows.

Slight correction to the article - Jim Terry Productions didn't produce the latest compilation dubs of Danguard Ace; it was William Winckler. Jim Terry produced the original episodic Force Five dub of 26 selected episodes of Dangaurd Ace and one compilation movie back in the early 1980s.

Given the recent releases of all the William Winckler compilation movies of Gaiking and Starzinger, Toei have obviously finally succeeded in finding an outlet for those dubbed compilations through Shout! Factory, some four years after they were all produced.

I must confess I'll be looking forward to see if Shout! ever release the compilation movies of Captain Harlock and Fist of the North Star. Although no real substitute for the original unedited versions released by Discotek, I think the latter series in particular might benefit from some streamlining as it was replete with repeated scenes, flashbacks, and filler.

They are a bigger company with bigger ambitions than just the next Discotek. They already ARE bigger than Discotek. Right now, they're what Anchor Bay used to be in their heyday.

I love their Scream Factory line. There's a growing number of blu rays I buy these days that are from Shout/Scream factory. Ninja 3, The Funhouse, Lifeforce, Timerider...

I think it is Awesome that Shout Factory is releasing Danguard Ace on dvd. Maybe they can release Grandizer and Starvengers down the road. I would also like to see the Entire Series of Ufo Robo Grendizer on Dvd. Maybe someone could bring Getter Robo And Getter Robo G too.

All of these oldschool mecha shows I've been dying to see...and they're not the full series.

Being a fan of oldschool giant robots truly is suffering. Crying or Very sad

I remember enjoying this on TV when I was a kid... in the old days of anime where I'm not sure if they translated the dialogue or just made stuff up as they went along...
