Imo, this needs an anime adaptation. I'd love to see one but at the same time, I'm glad to see One-Punch Man is getting attention. I love this manga.

I'd love to see one too, granted we'll probably have a wait a few...years... before that happens due to how slow the Maruta drawn comic moves.

Regardless I'm also glad to hear this, as I really do enjoy this series, it's a great week when you hear good news about three of your favorite series. Very Happy

One-Punch Man is easily the best 'new' comics of 2013. It needs to win all the Eisners.

I don't think it does. I mean I love One Punch Man, but I can't think of anyone that could make a good adaption of it, especially on a TV budget. This is honestly some of the best art I have ever seen in a manga.

You know I was thinking about this, and the only animation studio I could see doing justice to it would be...

Pixar.

No wait, I'm being serious here. I think instead of trying to one-up the manga's 2D art, you go 3D and make it awesome in a totally new way.

Considering the volume cover depicted in the article has the guy's fist being larger than his (quite-large) head, I have to question your honesty.

I enjoyed the chapters enough to be buying volumes, so I'm glad to hear that is doing pretty well and there are a good number of reprints available.

On an anime, I'm pretty sure that a TV adaptation won't do this manga justice, I mean I always come back for adaptations annoyed at alternative angles on scenes, filler, fight scenes being changed up, characters behaving differently, spoilertastic or lame opening/closing cinematics and so on. This one I am even more sure that an adaptation even if it will increase the audience won't be worth it next to the manga... >_> Perhaps as a short OVA or movie series, we could see something better.

We'll see.

Minor correction: The OPM bonus chapter for WSJ ran in this Monday's issue (which we got in English WSJ this week as well) already, not next Monday.

And yea, no way a TV budget can do this manga justice.
The idea of a good 3d version sounds intriguing though Very Happy

Well, then draw your own conclusion: http://www.crunchyroll.com/anime-news/2013/03/06/chapter-of-one-punch-man-manga-turned-into-incredible-animated-gif

Note: These aren't animation, just the pages stitched together. It's that good.

Yuusuke MURATA way of drawing action scenes is pretty much a series of animation stills already. I'd love to see it fully animated!
