"Fubuki is a girl whose only goal in life is to be the best…at arcade games! In normal life, she’s a total spaz, but when it comes to arcades, Fubuki’s a whiz with special super-powers. When an evil organization steals her powers to gain world domination, Fubuki’s dream of winning the World Championship is in danger! She and her friends must battle the wackiest bunch of video game villains ever in a quest to make playing games fun again."

DAMN! are they just running out of ideas now?

Haha, you don't even know the best part!

Wait until you find out exactly what it is that gives her those "special super-powers." Wink

I wonder if there's any hope that CPM will do a 20th anniversary special edition DVD of Urusei Yatsura: Beautiful Dreamer (my favourite anime film) for 2004, complete with the commentary track by Mamoru Oshii, Shigeru Chiba et al., as well as the deleted Leiji Matsumoto-homage scene?

Glad to know that American licensing companies are doing their best to track down every last piece of worthless shit that happens to be animated and from Japan, while allowing dozens of older worthwhile series to languish without even the slightest hope of domestic release.

Can you elaborate on that scene? I really like UY! (Still need to pick box #5)

Well, um, okay. But I would think it's no more a "spoiler" than if I were to say spoiler["Shinji pilots a giant robot"] to someone who hadn't seen Evangelion. I mean, she's given them within the first few minutes of the first episode. It's kind of the point of the entire series. (Though CPM doesn't appear to want to admit to that fact, given their description of the series...)

It was a long time ago, but from what I remember, it seemed mostly harmless. I do recall it being quite goofy, though. Lots of arcade game references, but you also have to put up with lots of underage spoiler[panty] shots. Rolling Eyes

Damnit! I can't find that page that had the info about the deleted scene on it. It was a sequence on one of the dream worlds that showed Ataru dressed up like Tetsuro Hoshino or one of those other similar-looking Leiji Matsumoto boy characters, on some sort of planet. It was only partially animated, so the page had both colour pictures and storyboards. I thought it was on the 2002 Region 2 re-release of Urusei Yatsura: Beautiful Dreamer** but Chris Beveridge doesn't mention it. And it's not mentioned on Tomobiki-cho. All I can assure you is that I swear I'm not making this up, and, as far as I could tell, the page it was on wasn't a joke.

Sorry. Crying or Very sad

**Where the commentary track I hope they put on UY:BD if CPM does do a 20th anniversary SE as part of their "Collector's Series" line of disks is from.

Perhaps it was a planned scene, but it was never animated in its entirety?
