I remember the game. Used to play it at Camp John Hay when I vacationed in Baguio.

I am a pretty big fan of the Wonder Momo webcomic and Wayforward so I am really looking forward to both the anime and video game. Sad to hear that its not a beatem up in the style of Double Dragon Neon though.

My only exposure to the franchise was through the 2005 game Namco x Capcom. And I really liked the character, which was voiced by Ayako Kawasumi.

I think she should have got the role to play Wonder Momo, but I am still excited about the game and the anime. And hopefully the game will make it's way to PSN and Xbox live as well.

Yuka Fujiwara as the "new" Wonder Momo as a newcomer, is to freshen things promotion wise up I suppose.

Although I'm pretty sure the reason why Momoi is voicing the "original" her over Ayako Kawasumi is because in late 2005 (a few months after NxC came out) she put out a Wonder Momo related single that was also used in the Taiko no Tatsujin series. She proceeded to voice her appearance in the game Queen's Gate: Spiral Chaos, so I don't think it's super surprising to see her as Momo again, as the "original".

That said, I'm interested in seeing this. It's quite the charming game and I'm all for more Haruko Momoi.

Like the WebComic. Hopefully the mini-webepisodes for this anime will be able live up to the comic. Making short-webepisodes make sense, since current plot of the webcomic could be gone through in matter of couple full 25-minute episodes.

Shiftylook just released a new Bravoman episode with Wonder Momo in it....I assume part 1 of 3 and 3 of 3 are comics on the shiftylook site and that the comic doesn't include any pervy photographers.

No, that's just a joke. There is not part 1 or 3.

Also I'm pretty sure that's not actually Wonder Momo's Japanese voice actress... Sad

I'm actually an internet acquaintance of the Wonder Momo we comic writer this anime is going to be based on. He's over the freaking moon about this development.

Wonder Momo has always been pretty cool, in her own obscure Namco-girl way (her most recent appearance was in Tales of the World Narikiri Dungeon X in 2010, as a costume for Mel).

Queen's Gate Spiral Chaos actually.
That was released in 2011, FYI.

I'd post a link but Queen's Gate being ecchi and all that. Just youtube it if you want to see it.

NDX was her most recent for me, I mean. I've only ever seen the linked video clip of her attacks from Queen's Gate. I know nothing about the game itself.
