Wow, Akiba's Trip 2 only sold a few thousand units. If they can't even sell it in Japan I wonder how many copies they'll be able to sell stateside.

The Vita version sold over 30k while the PS3 version sold over 20k. That's pretty good.

But the PS4 just isn't as appealing as the other systems at the moment so sales might have been low, and they were.

I completely forgot there was a ps4 version, so I just assumed it was the ps3 version when I saw the name. Thanks for providing the numbers.

The PS4 is a commercial flop in Japan for good reason: It's not a Japanese centric console. It has nothing that appeals their tastes and has poor 3rd party Japanese support.

Sony fans thought Japanese gamers were going to buy into all the false hype and manipulative, opportunistic marketing of PS4(that its not DRM laden when there were indeed plans to make it so) and thought people in Japan would brush off getting the platform last, they thought wrong.

Japan's console market is falling because there's not a SINGLE Japanese platform on the market. The Wii U doesn't count.

The Japanese market will be saved when Dreamcast 2 launches.

The only console which actually focuses on games and not social media garbage doesn't count. Japanese games, for the record.

PS4 might pick up later, but as of now there's no reason to get it. Especially if you only play Japanese gamess. Or exclusive. It's just a multiplat machine as of right now. Maybe once it gets all the exclusive Atelier, Tales, and other RPG games. Assuming those don't all just move to the 3DS and Vita.

Huh? There are plenty of actual games on the PS4. I don't know what this social media garbage you're talking about is.

I also don't know how the Wii U dosen't count.

Watch Dogs doing really well. I guess open world games are gaining some traction thanks to GTA. Shame that it's Watch Dogs though.

You don't know what you're talking about.

120,000 sales for a western console game is really well. Add in the fact that it's also a new ip and a good portion of it sold on the PS4 and you have a title that's done well in Japan.

Japan isn't the main market for Watch_Dogs. Any success Ubisoft has in the country is just an added bonus. It's done extremely well in NA/EU, with global shipments surpassing 8 million units already.
