Are the uncensored versions replacing slowly the current ones or is it still just a limited time viewing?

Maybe there was some kind of licensing issue that prevented the streaming of the uncensored episodes from the get-go. I know Production Committees like to have censored episodes (sometimes in-a-obvious-way kind of censor) so people will feel they'll have to buy the home release media.

How long will the extension for the uncensored episodes be? Will it be until all of the uncensored episodes are streamed on crunchyroll or will each set of episodes be streamed for like a month and then taken down?

This is my guess on the situation. Usually when a show is simulcast, the production company almost always sends the broadcast version (which is the censored version). However, due to the fact Terraformars is such a gory show and there were numerous complaints, they had to ask for the uncensored versions.

I would assume the reason they're holding off releasing them is so that it doesn't affect home video sales. If you look at the release schedule, the uncensored episodes are being released on the same day the DVD/Blu-ray's are being released. For example, part 2 (eps 3-4) of the home video release is being released on 1/28/2015. Same with part 3 (5-6) on 2/25/2015.

For me it has the opposite effect. A lot of times I go into a show not expecting any of the content to have to be censored... then I find that 50% of the time the entire show is blurred out. Makes me just stop watching and never want to watch it again.

I really wish Crunchyroll had tags for each show they have that show when a show contains censorship. That way I know to avoid it and not waste my time.

These are supposed to be long term.

While it may seem strange, they aren't replacing the censored versions. They are currently being added on in a separate section on the show page, and that section header currently has to be clicked on to expand it. Hopefully they'll reverse that order once they have all the uncensored episodes.

If you're going into a ongoing or new anime you should expect it to be censored. This is because they show the broadcast version first (which is censored) and release the uncensored version later.

If you want to watch a show you know that's gory or is gonna require censorship, it's best you wait until the series is on blu-ray so you can get the uncensored version.

I hate how these streaming agreements have catches like this. It's interesting that their Winter 2010 simulcast of Cobra was air uncensored.

Yeah I see the bottom collapsed section having the first two episodes currently. edit: I misread the schedule, and I hope it's permanently posted too

It's true that you should expect all simulcasts to be censored. But occasionally, some terrestrial broadcast versions are uncensored like Parasyte, which is also gory, and previously Lupin Fujiko Mine which had sex and a lot of nudity. It all depends on the production committee really.

That's what I end up doing now for most shows.

There was also Akame ga Kill, which was uncensored on CR (and also Nico Nico in Japan), but was censored on broadcast stations in Japan.
