Finally some news on this. It's been a long good while...
Interesting choice for the director here although I have mixed feelings on the studio. We'll see how it works out. I expect a 1 cour adaptation.

Yes! About time. Any longer and I would've thought that the project silently felt into Development Hell...
If Lerche will utilize a similar art style to that of Ansatsu Kyōshitsu, I'll be quite pleased (actually, even if they'll go for a different art style, I'll still be pleased).

Can't say I'm familiar with either the director or studio but I enjoy the manga for its... umm... unique angle on the cute girls' high school slice-of-life genre and trying to work in the usual high school clichés (i.e. school trips, cultural festivals, graduation anxieties) under highly unusual circumstances, so this would be my most-anticipated series of the year had Non Non Biyori not been getting a second season and also The Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-chan been announced, but, still, it's in my top 3 most-anticipated of the year.

No-no-no. Danganronpa/Assassination Classroom visual style isn't suit well with the sweet moe girls cast of Gakkou Gurashi. If they're going to play on the contrast between the cute girls in the main roles and a zombie apocalypse in the background, then they need to do that fully.

This is on my mind. I can go through with the Seiji as the director, but not with their trinity Seiji/Uezu/Morita. Especially with Uezu. In addition, they're will be employed with Lerche on the Noitamina block this spring.
Well, the fact that script of anime is on the author is really a big plus.
So far, everything looks good.

Except the thing that the zombie apocalypse is in the first place there. It's more like "Dawn of the Dead" or "28 Days Later" with Kirara style girls on the main roles.
Yes, it can be cute sometimes, but original is more creepy, depressive and grim than it might seem at first glance.

Can't we have a regular zombie apocalypse show for once? D:
Oh well, guess everything needs at least moe or boobs in it to make people satisfied.

It does get dark very often, but the lighthearted attitude of the girls, especially Yuki, keeps the darkness in check. I wouldn't even read it if it was relentlessly grim.
