Incredible. Old Luffy's going to appear in a live-action tv special. And from the sounds of it,it's the Japanese version of "The Twilight Zone." I hope I'm not raining on anyone's parade but is it wrong of me to hope for an anime character to appear on a live-action show in the U.S.?

So it sounds like Luffy is a hallucination that this guy sees.

Man, this is right out of the Twilight Zone.

Not at all. While I don't watch a lot of live-action American shows outside of the reality shows, I find it would be interesting to have that. Case Closed crossing with Law & Order.

Abe Hiroshi already played a character once who (very, very temporarily) had the powers of the Gum Gum Fruit (in the second Trick motion picture).

Roger Rabbit definitely came to mind. Does Japan have any feature like that?

It sounds like Luffy's just going to show up for about a minute towards the story's climax, and the episode's getting hyped to bring in One Piece fans who will sit through the first two and a half acts.
