Oh I think it's obvious they will remove the censors from the BDs. Wonder how faithful this adaptation will be though..

Just by looking at what was released before reeks of "watch me on Blu-ray." lol You didn't even need to know about this series beforehand to know that.

Hm, I don't see anything revolutionary about this. Even the fanservice is sort of meh. Considering I had hopes of watching this as my guilty pleasure I'm a little disappointed. I hope the real thing will be better.

Is this a really common practice in anime? I keep hearing about home video releases being uncensored, but is it really that big of a draw that Triage X is extremely upfront and obvious about it?

Buying these releases always comes across to me as something like buying porn under heavy disguise.

They do it because they only make money on the disc sales, not on the TV broadcast. So any incentive to force people into buying discs is exactly why they censor the broadcasts. It's not about deceit or shame, it's about moolah. It's: "you're not actually getting the real product until you pay us handsomely." It just so happens to work out best for anime with a bunch of boobs to apply censors to, so other series have to try other tricks like changing/cleaning the animation, offering specials, offering event tickets, and so on.

Well, what I was wondering about is if it really does get good sales simply for having the home video release being uncensored.

Its just one way for them make more money. They censor the broadcast so that you can buy the blurays out of curiosity. It's business really. They do this with all the ecchi anime nowadays. How obnoxious the censors are varies between show to show. I usually just waif for the gifs to flood whenever the blurays come out.
