I'm absolutely with Theron - this was my reaction to the second novel too, and I think framing it as a first draft of what eventually became the anime is spot-on. It's fun, and the world is interesting, but at the end of the day the writing just can't quite keep up with the story.

Ironically Lily's profile is one place where I did notice an error - apparently her crossbow is called "Little Barista" when I'm pretty sure they meant Ballista ^^; There was a correction from the first novel though - Miaha is now Miach, however they also repeatedly used "Daidaros Street" which should either be Daedalus or Daidalos, depending on whether you're using the Greek or Latin spelling (the Yen Press books have been using Greek spellings thus far, e.g. Hephaistos, while the Crunchyroll subtitles have been using Latin, e.g. Hephaestus). |
