Not really, the main love interest is always trying to kill him, the powers they have are extremely different than the diaries, and the protag isn't a whiney lil' bitch like yukiteru!

All in all, it's a good manga and I hope they make a full series of it

Oh, this might be good. I can never get enough of battle royals (or at least that's what this sounds like). Like the premise too.

Not gonna lie, that premise sounds extremely interesting and pretty original, to boot.
Definitely wish it was getting more than a 25 minute episode.

I'm also a big fan of The Future Diary, so that makes me even more interested.

If I remember correctly, this was how Mirai Nikki started, they made an ova (even though it was only 8-minutes) then an anime followed after. Hope this ova boosts chances for this series to be at least a 12-episoder.

That is what happened.

Been waiting years for this.

They'll probably wait another year to gather material though. I've noticed studios are more comfortable doing adaptations if there is enough content to make a season 2 in the same year. (e.g. Lerche with Ass Class, I.G. with Haikyuu)

Please be Bones please be Booonnnneeeesss.
They are doing an incredible job with Kekkai Sensen. I'm a guy who isn't really a fan of Madhouse adaptations where its just 4 chapters per episode and that is it, however I hate Pierrot's 14 chapters an episode and using anime original as an excuse to cut stuff even more.
The way Bones is doing Kekkai Sensen is perfection. They are adapting everything, not leaving a single page out from the manga, while working anime original into the story and now the manga and anime original stories are colliding to make a better, more powerful story. Like they adapted something like half a volume in an episode and not a single thing was skipped, not a thing, that's the type of adaptation I like.
Bones, I f you give us that type of adaptation every time I would be more than pleased, it shows you take so much pride in the original material that you work your asses off to make it even better, and I prefer to see that then giving us 4 chapters, nicely animated and with music any day.......
Hey, maybe that's the reason Madhouse anime aren't popular in Japan..... hmmmmm

Unfortunately he exchanges passivity for stupidity.

With the kind of power Eiji has, it's a miracle of plot he ever loses. There were too many harem romcom elements for my taste as well, making the tone inconsistent.

Hopefully an increase in awareness of this series will lead to a group translating the manga. Only the first 20-something chapters have been translated so far, and it's been stalled forever.

Or, better yet, someone licensing the series. Really hoping for VIZ, since they have Future Diary.

Nowadays it's done like that, but before it was a miracle for some series to get another season even with enough material, and that's saying something now that we get 2nd season confirmations to premier only after a season break (WIXOSS, Chaika, Shinmai Maou no Testament). Studios won't always animate a who manga series, especial one close to wrapping up at the time, Mirai Nikki was one of the lucky ones and it was nice to see it was animated to the end.
