What's the point of watching the first 12 Minutes? In the worst case it's good and you want more, but can't get it.

Man, they really like to focus on the major's derriere.

Keeping in line with past traditions of the series I suppose.

Hmm... doesn't look bad. Still showing why I don't like Ubukata doing the screenplay for GITS though. It is not like GITS doesn't have big action pieces. But generally the characters are covert and only upfront when the situation demands it. Here it is just ridiculous, there is a big fixed gatling gun at the front door. Instead of doing something smart, like using the back-door (or the damn roof given she jumped off a helicopter), she just runs strait at the gatling gun. The gun could of at least been on a mobile mech and that would make more sense as to why she took care of it first. But she seems fixated instead in showing off by dodging bullets. Ubukata just doesn't seem to consider such stuff. Just goes for the 'cool' stuff straight off.

That out of the way. Is the movie even in 4K? First 4K anime?

"Sweet action soundtrack, bro."

This is the least cinematic or cerebral GITS to date. I'll be glad when Arise has run its course.

Something doesn't make sense about that brain dive scene. Togusa is the only one whose mouth is moving when talking... none of the others are. Back in GiTs SAC, their mouths moved when they were doing a brain dive. Weird.

Also strange is that the Major is telling them not to kill (the war is over) when in 2nd GIG they're blowing the crap up out of people.

I wish they would brand this as an Arise movie, because that's exactly what it is. They're mentioning Fire-Starter all over again and it's the exact same cast, crew and designs. The poster they released at the beginning of the year seemed to have thrown us off a bit with the look emulating '95 Major but it's actually just the Arise design all over again.

Not that I'm complaining, but the movie needs a better title then something as generic as "Kokaku Kidotai: The New Movie" lol.
