Well, the results were as expected but I would still go for Ufotable as the best studio. And congrats as well to Studio feel, you earned it after a well done adaptation of Oregairu. I'm hopeful and positive for 3rd season of Oregairu in the near future to come. For the rest of the winners, congratulation as well. KANA!!! you done it again! xD

Giving Fate/stay night:UBW the award for best series once again proves that Japanese otaku have shit taste.

Though, I am still surprised that SNAFU (a actual well made show) is getting love from Japanese otaku.

Oh I love these. If something I don't like is popular that means they have shit taste, if something I like is popular it's "surprising"

I find this hilarious. A series from Japanese creators for the Japanese people that the Japanese people loved and your saying they've shit taste. L O L. If you think they've shit taste.... um.... why exactly are you watching anime then? Unlike 99% of western anime fans, they watch anime for enjoyment, not for something to pick apart and be critical for every aspect.

(mind you, i wasn't a fan of Fate myself, but i don't go around saying Japanese have shit taste, because i know damn well i don't have the right to)

The fact that A-1 is best studio should be a red flag. These polls are clearly influenced by Aniplex. Almost all the top titles are owned by Aniplex too.

WHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhaat?!!!

How is this possible?! New type, a popularity award gave the best movie honor to Psycho-Pass instead of Love live?! As a IG fan, I can die in peace now.

I always suspect both in West and Japan, Production IG is a well-received yet NOT VERY popular studio, it seems I may underestimated that aspect a bit

Have to agree with you. I.G. are by far IMO the best anime company. They do everything right 99.9% of the time. I've noticed it alot on Youtube where I'd say "i hope Production I.G. adapt this" and i get weird comments like "who're they? what've they made?" etc.

As for Japan, i think there one of if not the most popular studio. the sales of their anime (as well as sales of anime from related companies such as Xebec and WIT) are massive. This year alone All Kuroko S3 and the Yamato movies placed number 1 at least once. But as for popularity here.... most don't even know they exist... its sad tbh

Oh it's rigged as all fudge, I don't even see how it's a question, even a lot of Japanese commentators are laughing at it. The only outlier is Oregairu which when you consider it's a Kadokawa title and they publish Newtype was probably their personal selection that they got to put in there along with all the Aniplex stuff.

When you have stuff like SAO II and Aldnoah Zero placing in the top 3 for mecha design when I've literally never heard anybody talk about the latter's mecha design and stuff like Gundam Build Fighters/Origin and Knights of Sidonia have been selling models and receiving all around praise like hot cakes for their designs and SAO II isn't even a mecha show nor contains any mecha that I can recall you know these are just being handed out based on production affiliation.

It's not a matter of "shit taste" or other such memetic concepts at all really as far as I'm concerned. Really I'm not even convinced an actual vote even took place and if it did it's all behind closed doors and the ballots are privately submitted so the organizers can just make up whatever result they want for promotional purposes that way you get people that don't know any better going "Oh I didn't see this show but it's getting all these "awards" and praise so I should watch it". Really at the end of the day I think that's what this is all about, promotional consideration for a couple of companies similar to how Famitsu scores work are political as all fudge and clearly biased towards Square Enix and Nintendo.

For the record the Animage awards were pretty different than this but in that case it was all centered around Fujoshi friendly series:

Animage Anime Grand Prix
# 1 Free
#2 Utapri
# 3 Kuroko's Basketball
# 4 Seven Deadly Sins
# 5 Haikyu
# 6 Sissy pedal
# 7 Akatsuki no Yona
# 8 Gintama
# 9 Handsome High School
# 10 Durarara

So who is voting for this again if Rin is second for best female?

Glad to see Oregairu Zoku up there. Great light novel writer, great voice actors, great adaptation by Kei Oikawa. Unfortunately, I doubt there's going to be a season 3. Maybe an OVA or a movie, but according to the author, the story's almost done. Not enough material for 13 episodes.

No, its funny because its a foolish statement. Your fooling yourself if think there aren't Japanese fans with that same mentality. But your data is so conclusive, you must be right.

LOL at people fighting angrily over these publicity awards like they even matter or are something to get seriously defensive about. Laughing

One other thing I like is that God Eater made it onto these lists too in the full version, an anime which the studio couldn't even finish properly over tons of other stuff. Likewise Charlotte was in the interim awards for best screenplay when it had only aired like 6 or 7 episodes. In fact the #1 and #2 political choices are the studios that had the most transparent massive production problems and just horrible scheduling in general for the entire year. It's really something else if you were to take it at face value as if to say the best studios are the ones that least had their shit together in 2015, but again I'm almost certain a lot of this was decided as early as when the last year awards were finished up and how things actually turned out didn't play much of a part at all.

You could even probably start picking next years awards based on how blatantly favored it is towards Aniplex. A-1, SHAFT and Trigger should have no problem going one or two and three in probably that exact order for studio. Meanwhile the rest of the lists should be compromised of stuff like Monogatari series, SAO, Kiznaiver, Black Butler, Asterisk, Magi, Granblue Fantasy, GATE, Durarara, Anthem of The Heart, Glass no Hana, Persona and their requisite staffs or whatever else comes out that Aniplex and Kadokawa are backing. Mari Okada is also a lock for best Screenplay with how many things she's doing for them from now until next year. Those are good titles to start with if betting on a probable list though.
