I'd like to see something more, and more substantial, from this franchise. There seems to be some interest in keeping it afloat, as Yuki Yuna short stories and a 4-koma gag manga appear occasionally in Dengeki G's, but it did seem like the anime left a lot of ground for further exploration of its world and themes.

Some more animated content is always good but please just announce Season 2 already, Gokumi needs it after the gargantuan flop that was Lance 'n' Masque Confused

Well, a Light Novel prequel dealing with the end of the world and the first group of heroes, centuries before Yuuna's groups, is being currently released.

What worries me is that we probably won't see the two Light Novel series ever being animated, sincerely, I always found that the quality of the LN stories was much better than the anime, which was already good in my opinion.

Takahiro focusing more on Akame ga Kill! end has resulted in another writer picking up the LNs and damn is he/she much better at it than Taka.
