Something is going on here. I wonder, at this rate will Konami go under?

I agree, might start to become a trend in the coming weeks.

No, Konami will be fine. They literally do not care about making video games anymore, as they get most of their income elsewhere. Their way of going about this has been pretty horrendous, but the departures aren't a sign of them sinking as a whole or anything.

Konami won't go under, it just won't be making giant budget video games even with there announcement to try to make a "new metal gear title".

I wonder if they will be making a new engine for their own studios.

Plus, the fact that Konami is sitting on massive cash reserves and the fact that Yu-Gi-Oh still brings in sizable profits for them means they're here to stay, even if they continue to subject their employees to abuse and neglect.

Yu-Gi-Oh! also has massive potential as a freemium game. The physical card game is already pay-to-win, like all TCGs.

In any case, I believe Konami doesn't really care at this point. If they're going to stop making video games altogether and treating their video game people like dirt, might as well quit. Konami won't miss them.

They're leaving Konami because Konami is tyranny because they mistreat nearly everything it touches in the gaming industry from employee to game franchises.

Do you remember when ANN wasn´t Konami watch? I don´t...

The company is also incapable of tanking as it isn´t a video-game company and never was.
They sell water, have fitness clubs and so on in Japan. Let´s keep up with the news cycle, ok.
This humble armchair general can guarantee you all that he finished more Konami games than anyone on this site and would have restructured and refocused the video game arm myself if i was the president. What the hell was the Fox engine for? No seriously!
I just would have tried to not come off as Hitler while doing so and i would´t have killed THE viral game (P.T.) of 2014 alive either.

K-Sha should really keep attention to her people. Now B-Sha is stealing her staff members.

Who actually owns the Fox engine is my question. Konami will all in likely go to home based video games developing. they have good frnchises to keep them afloat till they horribly screw it up which they will. But yugioh will just make all the capital they need to keep goin on and on

i have been saying this for a while now. once konami banned kojima from attending the IGN awards, most of us die hard gamers knew from then on that the flood gates have begun and its only a matter of time before it gets bigger and bigger. especially when kojima's no-competition clause in his contract expires at the end of the year.
