The new key visual looks neat. And I wasn't expecting that many manga adaptations all at once.

Way too cutesy for my tastes. It looks more like Sword Art Online to me. I love the more realistic and badass look of the original Macross.

I love Macross, but those flying disks from the AKB anime really was a disappointment. And the girls having super powers....what's the point of Veritech fighters?

As much people hate on Macross 7, I personally think the franchise will be hitting a new low with Delta. Sad

I was wondering who the 3rd point of the triangle was going to be. Guess this means it'll be Mirage.

I wish I could get these without having to import them. But certain companies would prevent that. The material does look interesting at least.

With his half-Zentradi background and his extraordinary height, I think Ernest Johnson stands to be the most unique character of Macross Delta.

But... they don't.
If you're talking about them being able to cure people affected by the Var Syndrome, it's probably just the same sound energy nonsense 7 and F already dabbled in.
If you're talking about the transformation sequences or them being able to fly/jump, look at their costumes really hard. Everyone has a certain piece of equipment attached to them that probably has boosters built-in and projects holographic clothes.

That preview was quite fun but a bit ridiculous even for Macross, hopefully it will turn out good and get a game adaptation on the Vita/PS4. I also want more screentime for Makina, she so cute.

I've been hearing this a lot, but really? Macross 7 had giant singing space whales for Pete's sake. Everything we saw in the Delta preview is just a result of in-universe technology continuing to advance.

Never ever call Variable Fighters by that bastardized name in Macross.

And Walkure don't have super powers. Their transformation and drones they use are part of Overtechnology. They channel their song through use of fold quartz tech to stabilize the Var outbreak. They can't directly fight mechs and still need the Delta squadron Valkyries for the heavy hitting.

I apologize in using that term.

I'm not arguing the power of music, it's the Force of the Macross series.

My point is that I don't like the stupid AKB flying girls making their way into Macross. You two obviously like it, but I sure don't. Please keep AKB away from Macross!

But this belongs perfectly in the world of Macross. Macross always reflects the type of real world idols that exist at the time the series is made. Being all super flashy and in your face are how idols are these days.
