Saekano: How to Raise a Boring Girlfriend Staff Confirmed to Return for Sequel

The March issue of Kadokawa's Monthly Dragon Age magazine (cover shown right) is revealing on Wednesday that the sequel to the Saekano: How to Raise a Boring Girlfriend television anime will have the same staff as the original series. The magazine announced the staff alongside a long interview with the original light novel series' author Fumiaki Maruto and illustrator Kurehito Misaki.
Kanta Kamei (Bunny Drop, Oreshura, Dimension W) is returning to direct the anime in A-1 Pictures, while Fumiaki Maruto (White Album 2, Classroom Crisis) is once again supervising and penning the scripts for the anime. Tomoaki Takase (Wagnaria!!, Yozakura Quartet ~Hana no Uta~ episode animation director) is designing the characters. Hajime Hyakkoku (K-ON!, GJ Club, Gugure! Kokkuri-san) is composing the music at F.M.F.
The original light novels with illustrations by Kurehito Misaki and the anime revolve around Tomoya Aki, an otaku who is working part-time to earn enough money to buy anime on Blu-Ray, who meets a beautiful girl on his way home during spring vacation. He eventually models the heroine of his own dojin game after her. However, he finds out a month later that the girl is in fact his classmate, and he doesn't know her name. He learns that the girl — named Megumi — actually is hardly noticed by others. Tomoya also has no artistic ability or writing skills, so he asks ace of the art club Eriri Spencer Sawamura to provide the art, as well as the honor student Utaha Kasumigaoka to write the scenario. Can they produce a decent game for Comic Market?
The first season of the anime premiered in January 2015 in Japan on Fuji TV's Noitamina programming block. Aniplex of America licensed the series, and streamed it on Aniplex Channel, Crunchyroll, and Hulu as it aired. A PS Vita game based off of the anime shipped in Japan last April.
