Nexon Founder to Sell Company

The Korea Economic Daily newspaper reported on Thursday that Kim Jung-ju, the founder of South Korean game developer Nexon, will sell his controlling stake to Nexon's holding company NXC Corp. According to the report, which cites unnamed industry sources, the founder and related parties are selling a 98.64-percent stake, valued at 10 trillion won (US$8.9 billion).
Nexon was founded in South Korea in 1994, but is headquartered in Tokyo, Japan. The company specializes in free-to-play mobile and online games, such as MapleStory, SINoALICE (pictured right), and the original Kemono Friends game.
