PlayStation 4 Update Adds Remote Play on iOS Devices
posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
Sony released a version 6.50 update for the PlayStation 4 system software on Thursday, which allows users to remote play from their iOS device.
In order to activate the feature, users need to download the PS4 Remote Play app on their iOS device, and then either use a search function in the app to find their PS4 device, or manually set up the remote play in the Settings menu on their PS4. The app on iOS devices then displays a touchpad that looks similar to the layout of a PS4 controller.
Remote Play is also available on PC, Mac, Sony Xperia devices, PlayStation Vita, and PlayStation TV.
The update also allows users to broadcast using Niconico Live (only available in certain countries and regions) at 720p, and allows users to change the "Enter" button from the O to the X button for certain countries and regions.
