Hakuhodo India Launches Trigger Happy Studios

Entertainment news magazine Variety reported on Thursday that Japanese advertising agency Hakuhodo Inc. is launching a new studio in India called Trigger Happy Studios. The company has appointed Amit Chandrra as the chief executive officer and Jigyasa Sharma as the studio head.

The new studio will produce, market, and distribute feature films, digital content, and international co-productions across various platforms and markets.

Hakuhodo previously acquired a majority stake in Indian brand and entertainment agency Marching Ants & Trigger Happy (MA&TH) Entertainment Network Private Limited. The company acquired a 51% stake in MA&TH.

Hakuhodo Inc. has been involved in the production of anime titles such as Akira, My Neighbor Totoro, Porco Rosso, and Whisper of the Heart. Its parent company Hakuhodo DY Group has 150 offices in over 20 countries. The company has had a presence in India since January 2000.

The Marching Ants Advertising brand agency was founded in 2001 and Trigger Happy Entertainment in 2007. MA&TH group has several clients including film producers, studios, streaming platforms, broadcast companies, and international brands.
