A running gag throughout the series is the appearance of Mobile Suit Gundam 00's Patrick Colasour as an avatar in nearly every episode.
Game Master's avatar is GunDiver from SD Gundam Force.
In episode 3, Kyoya's mask is based on the one Rau le Creuset wore in Mobile Suit Gundam SEED.
In episode 4, Daniel's Tequila Gundam drags a Kyrios Gundam Tail Unit as an homage to the 1966 Spaghetti Western film Django, where the title character dragged a coffin containing a machine gun.
In episode 18, the RX-78-2 Gundam and RX-178 Gundam Mk-II in the G5 Attack mission do their battle poses from the opening sequences of Mobile Suit Gundam and Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam, respectively.
In episode 18, the #2 player on the G5 Attack leaderboard is "Gunboy", a reference to Freedom Fighter Gunboy, which was the working title of Mobile Suit Gundam.
The company "Sazameth" in episode 19 is named after the Neo-Zeon mobile suit MSN-04 Sazabi and the Zeon mobile armor MAN-08 Elmeth.
In episode 19, one of the Gunstagram photos featuring a Petit'gguy team is an homage to the box cover of the High Grade Universal Century 1/144 scale RX-78GP01-Fb Gundam GP01Fb Linkin Park Edition kit.
