Trivia:

This pale, winged girl strongly resembles Nausicaä, the famous heroine in Hayao Miyazaki's manga for more than 12 years. It is widely accepted among viewers that Mr. Miyazaki was "setting Nausicaä free to the sunny blue sky she belongs to" with this short movie, which was produced right after the conclusion of Nausicaä manga.

There were 8,053 traditional cels and 400-450 colors used in this production.

The DVD release, "Ghibli ga Ippai Special Short-Short", includes the English version of the song, "Castle in the Air", synced with the On Your Mark video.

The raiding special policemen have IMI Galil assault rifles, while cult members wield Heckler & Koch MP5SD silenced submachine guns and Luger pistols.

The first Hayao Miyazaki related anime to use CG "cels".

The two policemen resemble Chage & Aska.

This music video film was paired with the movie "Whisper of the Heart" upon its release.
