Moka and Kokoa are sisters and they seem to share the same qualities for their name. Moka and Kokoa are both beverages. Also Kokoa's bat sidekick Ko-chan may also be a parody for koh-cha which is black tea.

In Episode 2, the horror characters that Kokoa imitates are Scream, Chucky, Freddy Kruger, and Jason.
In episode 5 at about the 5:30 mark, character Kokoa Shuzen yells out "Urusai, urusai, urusai!" ("Shut up, shut up, shut up!") to Mizore Shirayuki. The voice actor for Mizore is Rie Kugimiya, aka the "Tsundere Queen," who is well known for using that very line herself in several previous anime roles, most notably in Shakugan No Shana.
In Episode 6, Moka Akashiya briefly cosplays as Saki Asamiya from Sukaban Deka, complete with her distinctive fingerless gloves and yo-yo badge of office.

In episode 10, at around 5:00-5:20 in the background can be seen a Piranha Plant from the Super Mario Bros. game series.
