Reddit Anime Awards : Chihayafuru 3 et la saison deux de Re:Zero élus anime de l'année

Après les Crunchyroll, c'est au tour de la communauté de Reddit, notamment via son feed /r/anime, d'annoncer sa sélection annuelle des Anime Awards. Lors d'une cérémonie tenue ce week-end, les prix ont été communiqués d'après les sélections faites par un panel de jurys (pour chacune des catégories) et par un vote des internautes. Le jury a récompensé Chihatafuru 3 tandis que le choix des internautes s'est orienté vers Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- Season 2.

Chacun des panels de jurys, constitué de cinq membres, a naturellement eu pour contrainte de regarder l'intégralité des nommés avant de soumettre ses votes. Les récompenses se divisent en quatre catégories principales : celle du « Prix Général », celle du « Genre », celle de la « Production », et celle du « Personnage ». Chacune des catégories dispose d'un grand vainqueur désigné par le jury et d'un choix du public.

    • Parmi les invités de la cérémonie en streaming, on peut nommer les comédiens de doublage (voix anglaises) Sean Chiplock (Re:Zero, Breath of the Wild), Kayli Mills (Re:Zero, Sword Art Online, KONOSUBA), et Megan Shipman (My Hero Academia, Attack on Titan) ; la traductrice Katrina Leonoudakis (Horimiya, Higurashi: When They Cry – GOU, Chihayafuru), et l'animateur Jarrett Martin (Akudama Drive, Black Clover, Boruto). Les professionnels de l'industrie, notamment l'équipe derrière ON-GAKU, avec Cindy Yamauchi (Akuma Drive) et Kevin Penkin (Made in Abyss: Dawn of the Deep Soul, Tower of God), ont adressé des remerciements publics à leurs fans pour leur sélection. Approximativement, cette remise de prix aura amassé la participation de 6, 3 milles électeurs uniques pour 151, 3 milles votes individuels, et 140 candidats jurés.

    L'année passée, c'est Hugto! Precure qui a remporté le prix du jury et Attack on Titan: Season 3 Part 2 celui du public. Cette remise de prix a démarré en 2016, et sa version streamée en direction n'est arrivée que deux plus tard. Le subreddit recense à ce jour plus de 2 millions d'utilisateurs enregistrés.
