Space Brothers Anime Trailer Promotes The Martian Film

posted on by Carlos Cadorniga

The Nanba brothers are rooting for their fellow space enthusiast from America as they promote the Japanese release of a US film.

In a recent ad, the main protagonists of Space Brothers are hyping up the upcoming Japanese release of the The Martian, known in Japan as "Odyssey." The brothers can be seen panicking over the film's main character Mark Watney (portrayed by Matt Damon) as he becomes stranded on Mars, but soon begin cheering for his survival.

  • Hibito: "Bro! That's Mars, isn't it? Hey, watch out!"
  • Mutta: "No way! It's like when you were stuck on the moon!"
  • Hibito: "All alone on Mars...without oxygen, water, even food!?"
  • Mutta: "What a dilemma! But looks like he's as fiery as you, Hibito!"
  • Hibito: "He's sure not going down without a fight!"
  • Mutta: "Amazing!"
  • Hibito: "Everyone, believe! Don't give up, Mark!"
  • Mutta: "Give it your all! We'll be rooting for you! I'll have to pen this movie in somehow!"
  • Hibito: "For sure."

The movie is slated for a Japanese release on February 5 of next year.

Directed by Ridley Scott (Alien, Prometheus), The Martian saw its US release last month on October 2, grossing over $172 million during its theatrical run. The film stars Matt Damon, Jessica Chastain, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Kristen Wiig and tells the story of an astronaut becoming stranded by himself on Mars and utilizes several resources to survive and hopefully be rescued.
