Monster Musume Creator Goes to Comiket to Buy Dōjinshi
posted on by Eric Stimson
Despite ongoing concerns of Comiket possibly violating international copyright laws, many creators and artists appreciate the convention for the fan culture it fosters and the artistic skills it incubates, and many manga artists get their start as dōjin artists.

"I did it!"
OKAYADO, the creator of Monster Musume, says he has been to Comiket since he was a high schooler, although now he appreciates it for a different reason: His own manga is common fodder for dōjinshi. In a series of tweets posted on December 30, he revealed that he visited Comiket incognito and came out with a sizable Monster Musume dōjinshi stash. His only comments during the exchanges with merchants were "fufufu" (a kind of laugh). He claimed that this was something he'd always wanted to do and proclaimed it "extremely satisfying."
OKAYADO was also involved in making a full-length pillow of Miia, Monster Musume's snake girl.
