Takuya Eguchi Takes a Turn as Business Shellfish

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

Popular voice actor Takuya Eguchi took on one of his strangest roles on Friday. Known for voicing characters in KONOSUBA, My Love Story!!, and My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU, Eguchi's roster remains humanoid. The voice actor can now add "weird shellfish businessman" (businessmollusk?) to his resume.

Eguchi joined the cast of "Kaishain" ("Clamployees"), animated shorts that star varieties of shellfish representing different personalities. Eguchi voices Higai, a middle-ranked employee who wants to avoid excessive personal damage at all costs. His perception of situations may not always be accurate. Eguchi's character is a volva habei sea snail, and the word "higai" can also mean damage in Japanese. The project's recommended way to prepare the snail as food is to freeze it with liquid nitrogen.

The clip with Higai was played during the "It's Morning! Kaishain" segment on Zip TV on May 19. The Clamployees started appearing on the morning program over a year ago, and the shorts also screened in TOHO CINEMAS. Eguchi's character is the fourth exclusive to the morning program's segment.

While Eguchi's characters are often normal, the actor has gained a reputation for his indistinguishable doodles.
